What are the studio hours?

The studio will be open for workshops Sat. & Sun. during the allotted times unless otherwise stated. You must have a workshop reservation in order to access the studio. Visit our Workshop page for more information.

Are you accepting commissions?

We will accept commission requests for original artwork at our discretion. To inquire, Please fill out our contact form.

What kind of yarn do you use?

We use 100% acrylic yarn only.

Custom Orders

How do I order a custom rug?

All orders and requests can be placed above, on our Contact page.

Do you provide shipping for custom orders?

Yes, shipping services are provided for your convenience. We will carefully package and deliver your custom order to the carrier in order to be shipped. Please note that shipping costs may vary based on the delivery location and size of the rug.

What is the turnaround time for my order?

After placing the order, please allow at least 3-5 weeks for production. This time frame is dependent upon the order of our current que and complexity of your requested design.

Workshops

Where are the workshops located?

Workshops are held at our studio, which is located at 503 E. Washington St. Greensboro, NC. This location consists of several different artists’ studios, so please be sure to follow the signage upon entering the building.

What if I can’t make it to the workshop after making a reservation?

You are highly encouraged to be present for your RESERVATION but We understand that things happen. Please contact us prior to the start of the workshop you were supposed to attend in order to cancel.

Cancellations are non-refundable, however, we can reschedule your reservation for a day and time that works better for you for a $50 fee. Please note that due to limited seating and high demand, immediate rescheduling may not always be AVAILABLE.

Are children/guests allowed at the workshops?

We encourage you to leave children under 10 with a loved one. Children ages 10-17 can participate with a supervising adult and an individual reservation. Additional guests will not be allowed to enter the studio unless they are participating in a workshop.

How long are the workshops?

Each workshop lasts between 3-4 hours, so please plan your reservation accordingly.

Do i need EXPERIENCE or an artistic BACKGROUND to tuft?

No EXPERIENCE is NECESSARY when ATTENDING one of our workshops! It is artist-led, providing you hands-on guidance THROUGHOUT.

Am I able to take the rug home?

Yes! But if you would rather not, feel free to leave it on display in the studio or add a finish!

Are there any limitations to rug designs?

When considering your design, as a beginner, it is essential to choose something simple. Whatever you think is simple, think of something even more simple and go with that! We want to make sure you complete your rug within the allotted time frame. Choosing a complex design may prevent that.

Whats included with the ticket? Do I need to bring anything?

Our workshops include everything necessary to start and complete your rug. Just bring your creativity and positive energy – we’ll cover the rest!

What size rug will i be making in the workshop?

You will be tufting on a 24x24 in. frame, so your design, depending on what you choose, will be within those measurements. Most designs made are around 18-20in.

Will we use clippers to shave and detail our rugs?

You will not shave your rug with clippers but you will trim with scissors! Detailing with clippers takes longer than it looks and would require a workshop that lasts longer than 4 hours. If you would like for Studio Syx to shave, trim and detail your rug, please ‘Add a Finish’ to your reservation.

How will i receive my rug after i ‘add a finish’?

If you selected the add-on to have your rug finished by Studio Syx, we will send it to you free of charge or you can arrange to pick it up at the studio!

Are refreshments included in each workshop?

Drinks and refreshments are provided and accessible to you at every workshop. You can also bring or order food to the studio but you are asked to store & eat it in the kitchen or common area.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Due to the small fibers created throughout the tufting process, it is strongly suggested to wear a mask as it can be harmful to inhale. Please feel free to wear or bring your own mask for personal safety reasons. Masks will be available for those who would like one. IF YOU ARE SICK, PLEASE CANCEL and reschedule!

Tuft Summer camp

what is tuft summer camp?

It is a 5-day creative camp held by studio syx that will provide kids ages 10-16 the opportunity to design & create their own rugs! The 4-hour daily sessions will cover everything from design conceptualization to the final trimming of their tufted masterpiece. 100% acrylic yarn, polyester/cotton tufting cloth and felt fabric will be used during the process. On the last day of camp there will be a PRESENTATION where the kids can display their rugs and explain their designs!

when is tuft summer camp?

Camp will be held from june 23-27 (monday-friday) from 10am-2pm.

How big is the class size?

A maximum of 8 children will be accepted into the summer camp and the class will be divided into two age groups in order to provide a more personalized learning experience.

What is the price?

EARLY-BIRD registration is $150 now until June 8th. After June 8th, the price will be $175 and after June 15th it will be $200.

What’s included?

All materials, snacks & drinks are included in the total price. Though snacks will be AVAILABLE Throughout the duration of camp, children are still encouraged to bring a lunch.

Am i able to drop-in and visit during camp hours?

Parents/guardians who are listed on the reservation form will be considered approved parents/guardians and will be able to drop-in at any time between 10am-2pm. We highly suggest keeping visits to a minimum timeframe to ensure everyone is able to finish their designs in a timely manner.

What if i need to drop off my child earlier than 10am or pick them up later than 2pm?

early drop-off is AVAILABLE From 9-10am. Late pick-up is available from 2-3pm. Early drop-off and late pick-up each require a $10 fee. There is a $15 fee for both. For every additional 15 mins after 3pm that your child is at the studio, $5 will be added. Please communicate any delays in drop-off or pick-up as soon as possible.
